EXPRESS COMMENT
PICKING ON THE MOTORIST WILL MEAN GRIEF FOR BROWN
ONLY a political leader obsessed by ideology to the exclusion of common sense would declare war on a majority of the electorate.
But Gordon Brown is now at war with 26 million motorists.
Yesterday in the Commons the Prime Minister demonstrated a total inability to comprehend the unfairness of his plan to massively raise Vehicle Excise Duty on many models of family car.
Mr Brown repeatedly defended “green” taxes. But he could not answer Tory leader David Cameron’s point that to raise VED on cars bought in good faith by consumers up to seven years ago is outrageously unjust and clearly designed to raise revenue rather than change future behaviour.
The Prime Minister’s punitive approach to VED is in line with his general hostility to drivers.
This is an administration that has turned speed cameras into a revenue-collection racket, allowed the roads to fall into a terrible state of repair and enabled local authorities and state agencies to impose rip-off parking charges everywhere, from high streets to hospitals.
And, of course, it also charges some of the highest duty rates on petrol and diesel in the world. As both a non-driver and a socialist political obsessive, Mr Brown is doubly out of touch with motorists.
Mr Cameron was right to warn him that if he doesn’t abandon his VED onslaught, his party will abandon him. The same is true of his punitive fuel duty rates.
In the war between Mr Brown and Britain’s drivers, there can be only one winner. And it won’t be the increasingly deluded figure in the back of the prime ministerial limousine.
PICKING ON THE MOTORIST WILL MEAN GRIEF FOR BROWN

The person I would least want to be in the world, especially right now, is Sarah Brown.
I mean, it can't be very nice, knowing that the whole country sees your dear husband as a combination of, joke, loser, and thieving, corrupt, liar - and they're his good points!
Reference his 'week of hell' - he's been inflicting HELL on Joe Public for the last 11 years. His idea of hell will be, when he's kicked out of No. 10, and labour's consigned to history.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTLEY RIGHT, BLUENOTE, BUT WHERE HAS OUR PETITION GONE TO TELL GREEN BROWN THAT THE PETROL TAX HIKE JUST WON'T DO? CAN THE GOVERNMENT REALLY GAG A NATIONAL NEWSPAPER??
WHERE HAS THE VOICE OF THE TORIES GONE? CAMEROON TOO BUSY BEING GREEN? WHAT A SHOWER WE HAVE IN POLITCS. WE DON'T WANT A COUNTRY LED BY CLONES OF GREENPEECE AND FRIENDS OF THE EARTH. THE FRENCH KNEW HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM! REMEMBER THE RAINBOW WARRIOR (THANKFULLY DECEASED)!
NOT ONLY DOES THE IDEOLOGICAL LOONEY LEFT GREEN BROWN WANT US ALL ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT LIKE THE OLD COMMY COUNTRIES HE LOVES, HE ALSO WANTS US ALL SO POOR THAT WE LIVE IN COUNCIL HOUSES TOO. THE NEW LABOUR DREAM...VERY SIMILAR TO THE OLD LABOUR DREAM!

THE MOTORISTS REBELLION.

The very first sentence in this article said it all, Absolutely a jem. I have often tried by these comment sections "have your say" to bring to the attention of people the simple fact that this spiteful attack on motorists is a amixture of unealistic ideology and Brown's personal jealousy of the motorist- because he cannot drive, never has, due to an eye problem. So he has no empathy or understanding of the driver who actually has affection for a vehicle, and loves taking the wife/husband on a trip out on a lovely day, maybe with the kids and dog etc. It's all missing in his psyche, just coincidentally along with brains and understanding of real life. That is just a byproduct of llabour doctrines.
