RedBoxBlue performed in front of a staggering 10,000 people live on the social networking site.

Fans of the band, tipped to be huge, were able to use a special Facebook Application to watch the gigs over five days.

Band member Jonathan Haselden said: “We've made world history. I know for sure this will be talked about in years to come.

“But at the moment, we're pretty pleased that a self managed, unsigned band has been able to pull this off!”

The band took the internet in a bid to show record labels that they were willing to put the work in - and they certainly made their point as thousands of fans flocked to their computers to watch the gigs.

According to Facebook, several major acts were desperate to have the first gig on the site - but were beaten to it by the determined group.
