RONALDO: 'I do not know what my future will be'

Sunday June 8,2008

By Tony Banks in Zurich

CRISTIANO Ronaldo appeared to pull back from the brink last night and hinted that he could yet be persuaded to stay at Manchester United as he revealed that he has not made up his mind about his future.

Player of the season Ronaldo starred in Portugal’s 2-0 opening Euro 2008 win over Turkey in Geneva on Saturday and then said: “I do not know what my future will be.

“After the Euros we will deal with it. Does the speculation affect me? What do you think? No. I feel good. But I’m now in a mindset that I cannot allow myself to worry about these things and for that reason I am calm.”

Ronaldo’s United captain, Rio Ferdinand,  said: “Only Cristiano can answer the question why he would want to leave Old Trafford.
