DEAD: Daniel Gamble

Tuesday June 10,2008

THE number of British heroes who have lost their lives fighting in Afghanistan has rocketed to 100.

This week a suicide bomber killed three soldiers who were on foot patrol in the Sangin Valley. One of the courageous young men, all of whom were under the age of 25, was a highly trained linguist who spoke to a local in the area’s native tongue - Afghan Pashto.

Yet while speaking to Private Daniel Gamble, 22, the man detonated the deadly explosives strapped to his chest. He died instantly.

VOTE NOW - SHOULD WE BRING THE TROOPS HOME?

The two soldiers who died with him, Private David Murray from Carlisle and Private Nathan Cutherbertson, of Sunderland, were only 19.

After losing a hundred valiant soldiers, the chief of the Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Jock Stirrup, said the men had not died in vain out in Afghanistan.

But we want to know what YOU think.

After losing 100 brave men in only seven years, we want to know if YOU think it is time to bring our men home -  before anymore lives are lost.

VOTE NOW - SHOULD WE BRING THE TROOPS HOME?
