Hayley hits a high note with millionaire beau

LITTLE did soprano Hayley Westenra know when she got chatting to a mysterious fellow Kiwi on a flight home that he was a banking heir and one of New Zealand’s richest bachelors.

Westenra Mystery man Westenra: Mystery man?

Hayley, 19 - soon to perform at the White House - spent a chunk of her flight engrossed in conversation.

She then swapped numbers with her would-be suitor, who promised to call and arrange a date.

And what a date it was.

"She was so surprised the next day when he sent a helicopter to pick her up," says Hayley's mouthpiece.

"She'd had no idea who he was but the multi-millionaire Chris Richwhite flew her to his private island for a romantic day trip.

"She was shocked - on the flight he'd seemed like your average guy."

Hayley, whose debut album Pure went to No1 in the classical charts in 2004, is used to rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous, having sung for both the Queen and Tony Blair.
