Clashes take place between police and anti-war protesters in Parliament Square

Monday June 16,2008

Three people - including a 60-year-old woman accused of indecent exposure - have been charged after an anti-war demonstration.

Scotland Yard made 25 arrests after 10 officers suffered minor injuries during a demonstration in Parliament Square as George Bush visited Downing Street on Sunday.

Up to 2,500 demonstrators gathered in the square to mark President Bush's farewell tour of London, with around 1,200 police officers working on each day of his visit.

Members of the Stop the War Coalition, CND and the British Muslim Initiative organised the rally.

A 60-year-old woman will appear before Tower Bridge magistrates on June 25 charged with indecent exposure.

Two men, aged 21 and 26, were charged with obstructing police. They will appear before magistrates at Westminster later.

Eleven people - two of whom were arrested for assaulting a police officer - are still being held at a central London police station.

Two women and five men have been released on bail, while a man and two women arrested for breaching the peace were released after "words of advice".

A 20-year-old man accused of a public order offence was released without further action.
