BROWN'S LOST NOW THAT THE MONEY MEN ARE QUITTING

Monday June 30,2008

Unpopular, incompetent and psychologically flawed; these are the kind of remarks that are routinely thrown at politicians.

It goes with the job.

Gordon Brown is in the firing line right now. Everything is going wrong for him. MPs and ministers are dropping like flies; rising prices and mounting taxes remind the public on a minute-by-minute basis that it is all his fault.

Local and  by-election results underline his failure to connect with the voters.

He is boring, boorish, lacking in poise and wit. He can’t crack a smile without frightening the horses. But even now, with the support of his party he could probably weather the storm.

Except that now the diehard supporters are getting nervous, sensing a threat to their livelihoods if Mr Brown
drags Labour down any further.

The brickbats hurled by pundits and public are bad enough but this internal dissent is far more likely to destroy the Prime Minister.

Yet more damaging still is that Labour’s big financial backers are saying Mr Brown is not up to the job and they are having second thoughts about providing any more hefty donations.

Former Granada TV chairman Sir Gerry Robinson is one, impresario Bill Kenwright another, then there’s Sir Maurice Hatter and Sir Christopher Ondaatje.

“Follow the money,” said Bob Woodward in the film of All The President’s Men – and right now the money is not travelling in Mr Brown’s direction.

THE RATS ARE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER SHIP.

King rat gets lonesome!. I wonder why. Everybody and their dogs see doom etched on the horizon - except the blind b.....ds who run this "government". It is absolutely inconceivable that polititions of any colour could be so thick. My mate has a 'plane, and we fly to France, Belgium, Holland to enjoy a different ambience, occasionally. What the natives say about us does not bear repeating here.To them we are becoming the ar......le of Europe. And that is from once regarded as the respected leader. Money men are shrewd, they smelled disaster a few years ago. Their withdrawl has been a progressive one to avoid crisis or calamity. I think labour will be one hell of a long time in the wilderness after they are finally dumped.

Is it PM Brown,........ or is it lack of logic / investment, that is off putting ? Maybe better / more beneficial / logical returns, elsewhere that is turning moneymen away.?
