ANTI-INFLATION TIP: CHEAPER HOLIDAY INSURANCE

Story Image

Never go for the insurance deal offered by your tour operator

Thursday July 3,2008

By Jasmine Birtles

MAKE sure you shop around for travel insurance this summer.

Never go for the insurance deal offered by your tour operator.

Look on insurance comparison sites such as Insurancewide.com or Moneysupermarket.com for the cheapest one-off deals.

Do check the details of the cover carefully before you buy and don’t pay extra for unnecessary cover – you only need around £1,500 for baggage, £2million for medical expenses and £1million for personal liability.

If you go away more than once a year then it is much cheaper to get an annual, multi-trip policy.

Always keep an eye out for special offers and discounts. Right now, online customers can save themselves five per cent at Marks & Spencer.
