Weeping 16-year-old teenager Omar Khadr is shown being questioned by Canadian Security Intelligent Services (CSIS) about the events leading up to his capture in 2003.

The Canadian citizen, who was imprisoned at 15-years-old, is accused of throwing a grenade that killed a US soldier during a 2002 firefight in Afghanistan.

The footage - filmed through a secret ventilation shaft - shows a clearly-distressed Khadr, crying with his face buried in his hands.

He is heard repeating the words "Help me" over and over.

At one point he tells the official he was tortured while at the US military detention centre at the Bagram air base in Afghanistan, where he was first detained following his arrest in 2002.

Khadr is then shown lifting his orange prison uniform to show the wounds he received while detained.

He tells his interrogator: “You don’t care about me.”

The seven-hour video was released by Khadr’s lawyers after Canadian authorities passed a Supreme Court ruling to hand over key evidence against him to allow a full defence of the charges he is facing.

The video – which was taken over four days of interviews – was originally marked ‘Secret/No Foreign.’

Khadr's lawyers hope its release will provide insight into the effects of prolonged interrogation and detention on the Guantanamo prisoner, who at 21-years-old, has been imprisoned for six years.

The interrogation, by Canadian intelligence officers, is believed to be the first from the base seen by the public.
