The actor, 37, married to former Ballykissangel actress Dervla and dad to Florence, four, and Alice, two, says: “I was filming there for 10 weeks and at its coldest it was -25C with winds of 75mph.

"The kids hated it as it was too cold to go outside. They couldn’t even have a snowball fight as the snow was too powdery to make snowballs.”
