BROWN EYES NUGENT BID

Could David Nugent be on the way to Hull?

Wednesday August 6,2008

HULL CITY have turned to Premier League flop David Nugent in a bid to solve their striker crisis at the KC Stadium.

Manager Phil Brown wants to hijack Nugent’s proposed move to Ipswich and is set to tempt Portsmouth with a club-record £5million bid.

Ipswich have agreed the same fee with Fratton Park officials, but Nugent is keen to remain in the top flight, despite being told he can leave.

And despite failing to score a goal last season in 15 appearances, Brown is convinced Nugent can have a big impact this term and is willing to make him the club’s biggest-ever signing.

Brown has failed to sign Marlon King, Fraizer Campbell and Kevin Davies and needs a new goalscorer.
