Adam and Charles Davies, Luke and Miles Holbrook and Dale and Lucas Currell – all aged 16 - collected 53 A-C grades this morning.

All six boys are pupils at independent Brighton College in East Sussex.

Miles, from Hove, racked up six A* and three A grades, while his brother Luke managed nine straight A*s.

Miles said: “It’s fantastic, it’s just like winning a gold medal in the Olympics.

It’s just a case of toughing it out and the more exams you sit the easier it becomes.

“I’m so relieved and the fact that we are all twins and are able to share this success together makes it more special.”

He added: “We are not that competitive but we support each other - if one of us is doing revision then the other feels obliged to do the same.”

The Davies twins gained fifteen A*s and three As between them. Charles, who hopes to become a barrister, said: “We are all different sets of twins and our goals and aims are all completely different.

“It has been quite competitive but there has never been any element of wanting the other to fail.

“I would put our success down to Brighton College where the teachers help turn As into A* and Bs into As.”

Dale Currell came away with six As and three Bs while his brother Lucas managed one A*, five As, one B and one C.

Lucas joked that hard work and plenty of revision, rather than telepathic communication, helped them on the road to success.

He said: “It’s just a case of toughing it out and the more exams you sit the easier it becomes. It’s harder at the beginning when you’ve got all the anticipation.”

The Currells plan to study A-levels at Brighton, Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College before taking their next step on the educational road.

Headmaster Richard Cairns said 100 per cent of students gained five A* to C grades, and 70 per cent achieved A*s and A grades.

He added: “Our record GCSE results are testament to great teaching and tremendous hard work from pupils who also invest time and energy in the dance studio, the music school and on the playing fields.

“It is especially good to see boys turning out results every bit as impressive as the girls.”
