LEE TO LEAVE SPURS

Young-Pyo Lee

Wednesday August 27,2008

Tottenham left-back Lee Young-Pyo is to join German side Borussia Dortmund.

The South Korean international full-back played 93 times for the north London side following his move from PSV Eindhoven in August 2005.

Dortmund have confirmed the deal, stating the 31-year-old has signed a one-year contract with them, and a statement on Tottenham's official website said: "We wish him well for the future."

Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has chosen to bring in Lee after regular left-back Dede was ruled out for six months with a knee ligament injury.

The news continues Tottenham manager Juande Ramos' player clear-out at White Hart Lane.

Republic of Ireland international striker Robbie Keane was the highest profile departure, leaving for Liverpool for £20.3million - with Roman Pavlyuchenko tipped to replace him.

Goalkeeper Paul Robinson left for Blackburn in a £3.5million deal, Anthony Gardner joined Hull for £2.5million and fellow defender Younes Kaboul joined Portsmouth.

Midfielders Teemu Tainio and Steed Malbranque and defender Pascal Chimbonda all headed to another Barclays Premier League side, Sunderland, for undisclosed fees.

On Tuesday, Czech striker Tomas Pekhart moved to Coca-Cola Championship side Southampton on a temporary deal until January, while Spurs extended Leigh Mills' loan spell at League Two side Gillingham for the same period.

Mills is to be joined at Priestfield for a month by 21-year-old utility player Charlie Daniels, who spent last season on loan at Leyton Orient.
