Hull have signed former Leeds winger Mark Calderwood on a two-year contract from Wigan.

The 26-year-old, who has scored 135 tries in 212 games for his two previous Super League clubs, is a direct replacement for retiring Australian Test winger Matt Sing.

"I am looking forward to having Mark here - he is a proven try-scorer and he will add a lot of pace to our flank," said Hull coach Richard Agar. "He has probably not had the best of times since leaving Leeds to join Wigan, but we know he is determined to recapture the form and reach the heights he scaled when he was at Leeds."

Calderwood added: "Hull is a great club and this is an exciting move for me.

"They have some fantastic supporters who are very passionate about their team and they really do get behind them.

"Hull is a massive rugby league town and playing at the KC has to be a big thrill as it is one of the best stadiums in the country."

Calderwood, who was Super League's leading try-scorer in 2005 with 27 touchdowns, is in Scotland's squad for the World Cup after qualifying through Scottish grandparents.

He is Hull's second major signing for the 2009 season following the capture of Australian Test forward Michael Crocker from Melbourne.
