Doherty denies drink battle
Actress SHANNEN DOHERTY has hit out at reports she battled an alcohol addiction.
Doherty shot down allegations in several U.S tabloids that she sought help from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) following her arrest for drink-driving in 2000.
But the star admits she did help her husband overcome his drink demons.
She tells Usmagazine.com, "They said that I was so, quote, 'scared of the drink' that I was sleeping on my sponsor’s couch.
"Now, I've never been in AA. I accompanied my husband to AA meetings - actually, I forced him to go to one - but I've never actually gone for myself.
"Sometimes you can find some truth, a little nugget somewhere, but not one thing about this was true."
