DETTORI SECURES TWO MORE WINS FOR BIN SUROOR

DELIGHTED: Saeed bin Suroor

Saturday October 11,2008

By Patrick Weaver

Trainer Saeed bin Suroor took his tally of winners for the year to 44 as Frankie Dettori steered Musleh and Bab Al Salam to success at Lingfield yesterday.

The former built on a promising debut at the track last month and, after going on at halfway, had little trouble maintaining the gallop for a length success.

“He was very relaxed when I saddled him and in the paddock which shows he has improved,” said the trainer.

“He showed a good turn of foot, has plenty of speed and will make a miler next year."

Bin Suroor earlier saw his favourite juvenile, Bab Al Salam, get off the mark at the first time of asking – benefiting from a positive ride to make a successful debut by a length and a quarter.

“He is my favourite two-year-old and a horse I have always liked,” added bin Suroor.

“He has been weak so we had to be patient with him but he is still a big baby, although he is strong and honest.

“We will step him up in class before the year is out.”
