DO YOU BLAME LABOUR FOR THE ECONOMIC CRISIS?
Do you think Labour is to blame for the economic crisis?
Saturday November 15,2008
ONE in ten British workers faces redundancy before the economic crisis is over, business leaders warned last night.
The chilling prediction came after a week in which 20,000 jobs were lost from all sectors of the economy, heaping more misery on hard-pressed families across the country.
The British Chambers of Commerce warned unemployment could hit 3.25 million – more than 10 per cent of the entire workforce – unless the Government takes radical steps to repair the economy.
The highly respected group said the UK’s finances were in a “dreadful state” and urged the Government to cut taxes in the Pre-Budget Report to help to spur on the economy.
Yesterday saw no let-up in the mounting unemployment figures. Heavy redundancies at Citigroup and Royal Bank of Scotland capped one of the worst weeks for the jobs market since the early 1980s.
* Do you BLAME Labour for the economic crisis?
* Should the Government be taking RADICAL steps to repair the economy?

.
But going back to the point, and using the standpoint of neoliberalism, one can only reach the inescapable conclusion that (whatever you and Hippy might argue), Old Labour has got this country into one hell of a mess, financially and otherwise.

HYPOCRACY

"You two lefties clearly belong to the same club though cos you both sing from exactly the same hymn sheet."
--come on biffo... we are part of the same club? all you right wingers on here sound so much alike it's like being at a hari krishna convention.
you read the same drivel (such as this paper), you fawn over the same idiotic right wing bloggers, you all hate the same religion, and you all tacitly support the same racist party!
any yet you accuse me and hiphopper of being clones? give me a break. hiphopper and i agree on a couple of things (mostly a disdain for the bigotry on this site),
and we both have a respect for people who can actually argue and make proper points (thus, we are both truly dissapointed by how embarassingly bad all of you on here are at making points)
and we both have a reasonable sense of humour which is lost on this site.
but i'm pretty sure that we do not share the same political views on a number of issues. for example, i believe i am the only 'lefty' on this site (even so, i can still use the standpoint of neoliberalism to critique all of your inane points because i actually know a little bit about what i am talking about).
so put away the 'hymsheet' nonsense. accusing people of agreeing with each other is in no way a relevent or viable criticism of anything. just a sad, right wing ploy to avoid admitting that you have been soundly defeated yet again.
