THIN LIZZY'S MOORE LOSES COURT CASE

Story Image

Thursday December 4,2008

Famed guitarist GARY MOORE has been ordered to pay damages - after he was found guilty of copying a guitar solo for a 1990 hit song.

A German court ruled that the licks in Moore's record Still Got the Blues had been plagiarised from the 1974 song Nordrach, written by little known German band Jud's Gallery.

The Irish star, who played with rockers Thin Lizzy in 1974 and again in 1978-79 as well as enjoying a successful solo career, has been ordered to pay damages, which have yet to fixed, to band leader Juergen Winter.
