TOUR IS JUST THE TICKET FOR NERVOUS LILY

Story Image

Friday December 5,2008

Lily Allen hardly lacks self-confidence but admits she is so worried about ticket sales for her upcoming tour that she is snapping them up herself.

The singer and daughter of actor Keith Allen hits the road in March. “I’m quite terrified that nobody is going to buy tickets,” she said. “I bought six of my own!”

And 23-year-old Lily, talking on Absolute Radio, joked that good sales for a recent London warm-up gig may not have been all down to her fans. “I think my record company probably bought half of them,” she laughed.

She is also preparing for the launch of her new album It’s Not Me, the follow-up to her debut Alright Still.

Lily says that she has come up with a new sound that she hopes will show her fans another side to her.

“It’s varied,” she explained. “It’s got a bit of country on it, a bit of jazzy stuff – but not like Amy Winehouse, Duffy or Adele jazzy, it’s more Twenties.”
