BEN SLAMS BOGUS TALENTS OF ‘NON-ACTORS’

Sir Ben Kingsley

Friday January 2,2009

As well as apparently being a stickler for being referred to by his full title, Sir Ben Kingsley appears decidedly sniffy when it comes to the talents of fellow performers.

Sir Ben, 65, thinks some in the business are undeserving of the “actor” mantle. “When we’re talking about real actors, there is a general bond, born of struggle, of love of craft, of discipline,” insists the Oscar-winning thesp. “I think when you throw people together who are not actors – they’re called actors, but it’s very unfair, cause they’re not – they really dislike each other because there’s no trust, there’s no bond. They don’t know what they’re doing and they don’t realise that it’s all collaborative. They think it’s all about them.”

Wonder who he means?
