IS NUCLEAR POWER A GOOD IDEA?

Sizewell nuclear power station

Thursday May 24,2007

EVERY home in Britain is to be fitted with a high-tech meter to track its energy usage, the Government announced yesterday.

So-called “smart” meters will show precisely how much gas and electricity is consumed by households – down to the nearest penny.

They then send the information to the power supplier, ending the need for visits from meter readers. Critics fear that the devices will give energy firms the ability to snoop on customers.

What do YOU think? Is nuclear power a good idea?

I WOULD FEEL SAFER....

01.08.07, 4:18pm

Living next to a Nuclear power station.

Instead of Bradford & its "diverse" & "multicultural" religion of peace types.

I also note (in some news today) that a Pet food manufacturer is to be blocked opening a pet food processing plant next to a Muslim community, in case pork fumes infringe on their religious sensibilities.

Please Mr Pet food plant owner, build next to my house, I like the smell of Pork.

As far a the nuclear power thing goes, I believe that to keep the lights on in UK, there is no other viable alternative to fossil or oil based fuels.

We are in the era of "peak oil" read about it, it wont go away, alternatives are needed now given that nuclear power stations take so long to build. Yes storage is an issue, but so is a thermo nuclear war, that could be unleashed by the warmonger Bush & his new poodle Broon.

IS NUCLEAR POWER A GOOD IDEA?

The do gooders need to be put up against a wall and shot.
They dont want nuclear energy because of the waste problem.
They dont want wind turbines, because it will ruin the countryside
They dont want wave turbines, because it will kill the fish
They dont want solar panels at home, because it will devaluate their homes.

What the heck do they want ?

YES NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS CAN BE DANGEROUS!

24.05.07, 10:34pm

But Homer Simpson is not really the type of person employed in the industry and our government although as corrupt as Communist Russia steal from us legally without stealing funds for power plant repairs.

I would be more worried about a nervous breakdown or terrorist infiltration and the contents of certain missile bunkers spread around the UK how many warheads do we have each one more dangerous than a power station.

NUCLEAR POWER?

24.05.07, 6:59pm

THINK THAT IT IS ESSENTIAL TO HAVE NUCLEAR POWER IN A BALANCED SYSTEM OF POWER GENERATION ENCOMPASSING ALL OTHER ALTERNATIVE FORMS .WE MUST NOT ALLOW OURSELVES TO BE RELIANT ON NATIONS THAT COULD WELL LET US DOWN IN THE FUTURE.WE HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO USE NP ,SYSTEMS ARE SAFE NOWADAYS AND WILL BE FURTHER DEVELOPED PERHAPS NUCLEAR FUSION INSTEAD OF FISSION WILL BE THE EVENTUAL ANSWER WHO KNOWS?BUT WE CANT WAIT AND RELIEY ON OTHERS .

IS NUCLEAR POWER A GOOD IDEA?

To my mind the greatest danger of nuclear generators is the fcat that the government is so remiss with their crime control, and there are so many terorists running around out there. Three more reported to be running around today.
Also there's a scientest from Windscale, or is it called something else now who comes to Shrewsbury baths swimming. He said he's very worried about the stuff they're dumping in the sea as he's sure the cannisters will deteriorate more quickly than they think.
I have to admit I don;t like all this nuclear residue that use to?? maybe still is coming her to be dealt with.
