LONDON LIFE MAKES CHRISTOPHER MERRY

Christopher Mintz-Plasse drank in London's atmosphere

Tuesday January 6,2009

Christopher Mintz-Plasse has revealed he loved working in London because he could indulge in a drink.

The 19-year-old actor - who shot to fame in his debut acting role as McLovin in Superbad - filmed comedy comic book movie Kick-Ass, written by Jane Goldman and directed by Matthew Vaughn, in London for two months before Christmas.

He confessed he enjoyed working in a country where the legal drinking age is 18, not 21.

Christopher said: "I've been drinking... I think I can honestly say for the past three weeks every night I've been drinking. That's not professional of me but I don't care."

The comedy is about a teenager who has no powers but dons a cape to fight crime anyway. Christopher plays his best friend Red Mist.

He revealed: "His dad's the bad guy and he's kind of torn between good and bad because his father is the bad guy and his friend is the good guy.

"It's based in reality so I don't have any super powers. It's just a teenager dressing up.

"But it's definitely fun to have that character where he's like the 17-year-old who really loves comics and then at night when he puts on his costume he gets to be someone he always wanted to be. He gets to be outgoing and run around and try to stop crime which is really fun to do.

"It's going to be a really great movie, I'm really proud of this one."

Christopher also stars in new comedy Role Models with Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott, released on January 9.
