COULD BECKHAM RETURN TO PREMIERSHIP?
David Beckham
By Harry Harris
DAVID BECKHAM will consider a flood of offers to return to Premiership football this winter to keep his European Championship dreams alive.
The ‘Comeback King’ will need to keep sharp, fit and retain his form in the lead up to the finals during LA Galaxy’s long winter lay off.
Just like Henrik Larsson was a huge impact player for Manchester United, Beckham can do the same for one of English football’s top clubs.
Spurs’ Martin Jol and Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger have expressed their admiration for Beckham and it is not inconceivable that one of the North London giants would entertain Beckham for a limited period the way Sir Alex Ferguson summoned Larsson out of semi-retirement.
And, of course, it would be close to Beckham’s Hertfordshire home.
After a comeback with Real, after boss Fabio Capello said he would never play for Madrid again when his move to Galaxy was announced, and after a comeback with England when Steve McClaren told him he would never play for England again after the World Cup, now stand by for yet another unlikely comeback.
Although Beckham said he would never return to the Premiership, he would have to give it serious consideration if his England return proved successful.
WHY: TO BE BLAMED FOR THE ILLS OF ENGLISH FOOTBALLS AGAIN?

Beckham will not return to the fold of the Premiership. There are numerous reasons; the Galaxy and MLS has invested mega-bucks for Beckham the footballer, the glitz and fame, and, also, as football’s ambassador to North America.
Also, why should he return to the fold, after being relegated as the numero-uno black-sheep of English football?
Beckham has many flaws, as we all do. However, there are many on the English team-mates playing mediocre football but have not been dealt banishment from the team and overall vitriol from the fans! Perhaps McClaren should spurn some of the other prima-donnas: it does, seemingly, get results.
We, the fans, are a fickle lot… Becks, in my opinion, would be a nutter to return. It would only be a matter of time that he’d, once again, be held culpable for the failure on the pitch, internationally and at home.
