TV Ramsay faces fine for accounts

CELEBRITY chef Gordon Ramsay faces a £1,500 fine for failing to file his accounts on time for the second year running.

PRESSURE Gordon Ramsay PRESSURE: Gordon Ramsay

The 2007 results for his restaurant group, Gordon Ramsay Holdings, are five months late.

The Kitchen Nightmares star has so far incurred fines of £1,500 and a spokeswoman claimed he had agreed to file his accounts by the end of this week.

Ramsay, who owns 69 per cent of the firm, could see his fine doubled to £3,000 if he has not filed his accounts by the end of the month under the new, tougher penalties regime that came into force today.

Last year Companies House started proceedings against the chef as his 2006 accounts were 16 months late but Ramsay got off the hook on a technicality.

The Sunday Express understands that Companies House is again planning to take action against Mr Ramsay.

However, his spokeswoman claimed that the Government agency is “not looking to prosecute him”.

Last week the Sunday Express revealed that Mr Ramsay's restaurants are facing their own kitchen nightmares after financial sources claimed that a £10million business loan is being recalled by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
