AN ANGRY climate change activist threw green slime over Peter Mandelson today.
Leila Deen from campaign group Plane Stupid gunged the Labour Business Secretary as he arrived at the launch of the Government's low-carbon economy summit.
The 29-year-old was protesting over Mr Mandelson's involvement in the controversial third runway at London's Heathrow Airport.

Ms Deen calmly walked away after throwing a cup-full of what she called “green slime", believed to be custard, over the minster, who tried to duck.
She said: “I came here today to make a point - and I think I made that point. The only thing green about Peter Mandelson is the slime coursing through his veins.”
In a statement on the Plane Stupid website, she added: "That such a clearly corrupt human being is still in government, despite being unelected, is an affront to democracy and a threat to any hope we have of stopping the impact that climate change is already beginning to have on our lives.
"We have a tiny window left to stop climate change. I want to tell my children that I did not stand back and applaud as Mandelson ruined our last chance."
Ms Deen was protesting over reports that Lord Mandelson met lobbyists from Heathrow owner BAA
before the Government gave the controversial go-ahead for a third
runway at the London airport.
She said: "That Mandelson is today trying to make political capital out of climate change just days after reports that he met BAA's top lobbyist several times in the run up to the Heathrow decision is an insult to our intelligence and to our whole generation that will suffer from climate change."
"We know that Mandelson is best buddies with BAA's top lobbyist Roland Rudd, and reports suggest it was him who bullied Ed Miliband into accepting a third runway. We can't let the Prince of Darkness cast his shadow over West London."
The MP dismissed the incident - which raises questions about his personal security - as an “adolescent protest”.
He said: “She was so busy throwing what seemed like green soup or something in my face that she failed to tell me what the protest was about but, as you can see, thankfully it wasn’t paint and I’ve come through it intact.” Plane Stupid, which describes itself as a network of “non-violent” activist groups against airport expansion and aviation's climate impact, told Express.co.uk: "Throwing custard is classic slapstick, and certainly falls into the non-violent protest category as far as we're concerned.
"Everybody is delighted by this morning's action, and by everybody I don't just mean Plane Stupid - we've been getting emails and phone calls from people just ringing in to tell us this has really made their day.
"Recent news of Mandelson's behind the scenes dealings to force the third runway onto an unwilling public has only confirmed what Plane Stupid have been saying all along; democracy is being trampled on by politicians - unelected, disgraced politicians in his case - in order to serve special corporate interests over the interests of the British public.
"The third runway at Heathrow isn't just a disaster for our efforts to stop catastrophic climate change, it's slap in the face for British democracy too."
is this the same group not so long ago,that disrupted 1000's of innocent travellers with their idiotic break in onto the airfield,I guess so,the 3rd runway is a huge disrruption to peoples lives,and people don't want to move and historic buildings saved ,then tough on the runway,but yet again gordon stalin,leon mandelson and their lennenist allies do what they want.imprison this woman for her act as a reminder that your opinion does not encorporate physical contact,if the role were reversed,and she stood with a banner yelling her head off,mandelson took exception and slimed her,i think she would be pretty peeved.i can't stand the criminal mandelson,but i think he is good for labour as he maintains the criminal line,also it makes them more unvotable.climate change has been going on for millions of years,when as has been said ,dinasours never had 4x4's or aircraft,it's scare mongery for more revenue.

I am against the third runway, not because of the "Hey man, save the whale" greenie politics and appeasing the treehuggers. The main reason which people seem to have put to one side is the fact that 3 villages, a thousand houses, not to mention historical buildings of Saxon origin are to be bulldozed. 4,000 British people will be forcibly "relocated" to goodness knows where.
This sort of thing was the norm with Stalinist and Nazi regimes but not here in Britain in the 21st century. When the north runway was extended to accommodate jets in the late 40s, a complete Roman Temple was unearthed and immediately concreted over before archaeologists could get a look in. Harlington, Harmondswoth and Sipson will suffer the same fate if it goes ahead.
I am against the third runway but having one of the great unwashed chucking a cup of mushy peas over a politician is the wrong way of addressing the problem. You fight it with legitimate and legal challenges. Then, if you don't get your own way, you sit in front of the bulldozers.

I am against the third runway, not because of the "Hey man, save the whale" greenie politics and appeasing the treehuggers.
