Margaret and Mark Gillan, still distraught over the death of Megan, 15, told of their disgust last night.

Hospital worker Mrs Gillan said: “It caused us so much more heartache. We will never forgive them.”

The letter arrived at the family’s home in Macclesfield, Cheshire, two months after Megan, above, died suddenly.

The school warned that if she didn’t start attending classes regularly she would be banned from the end-of-year prom.

Yesterday the 900-pupil Macclesfield High School issued an apology and blamed a computer error.

Megan was found dead in her room by her father on January 19. The cause of death is unknown and an inquest has been opened.
