SPRING BRINGS US MORE SUNSHINE

Temperatures are expected to soar to 21C in the south with fine weather sweeping across the whole country.

Sun worshippers flocked to parks and beaches across the nation over the weekend to make the most of the
weather. And this was in stark contrast to Spain – where the rain stayed not just on the plain – with the Costas
having torrential downpours.

Back at home temperatures reached 17C – which is average for the time of year, with cool winds blowing in from the north. But after a fine week, rain is set to move back in next weekend – which could provide welcome relief for thousands of runners who will be tackling the London Marathon on Sunday.

A Met Office  spokesman said: “It’s looking fine and dry really for the next few days until Thursday, with rain on Friday and Saturday. “It should also feel a little bit warmer.” He added: “Saturday should have the worst of the weekend weather with things looking better on Sunday. “Things will turn rainy on Friday, and on Saturday there could still be a lot of rain in the London area, which could clear by Sunday morning.”
