Calendar girls go for a retake
THE real Yorkshire ladies from the Women’s Institute group who inspired the hit film and play Calendar Girls are to pose for another unclothed calendar.
Their first attempt in 1998, following the death of the husband of Angela Baker (a Rylstone and District Women’s Institute member) from leukaemia, has generated £2million for Leukaemia Research.
Fellow real-life Calendar Girl Tricia Stewart revealed: “We’re doing another one – using different props. This time, instead of preserving our modesty with iced buns and balls of wool, we’re using flowers, broccoli and a tea tray.” Hurrah.
