Cilla’s £5,000 jeans jaunt
NO credit-crunch worries for Cilla Black.
The singer and TV presenter sheepishly admits tonight to style guru Gok Wan that she spent more than £5,000 to bring over a pair of designer jeans from the US.
“I have to have bespoke jeans. I have to have really expensive jeans because I live in my jeans when I’m not on camera,” she says in Channel 4 series Gok’s Fashion Fix.
“I have actually paid over £5,000 to go to New York to get my American jeans. I’m not joking, I’m ashamed.”
Gobsmacked Gok says: “Basically that’s about £5,200 for one pair of jeans. You’ve got the most expensive behind in the industry!”
Gok eventually converts Cilla to a pair of Topshop jeans and leather jacket. An impressed Cilla tells Gok:
“I love it, love it, love it. Look at this rock chick! I’m looking at meself and I’m saying ‘bring on the boys’!”
