SOFT ROCKING OZZY HAS PHIL OBSESSION

Black Sabbath star Ozzy, 60, used to drive wife Sharon to distraction by playing In The Air Tonight repeatedly.

She said: “He played it so often that I would get the CD and throw it away but he went and bought another one.”

And Ozzy revealed that his middle-of-the-road tastes eventually rubbed off on Sharon, who became equally enamoured with the tune that enjoyed a recent resurgence thanks to Cadbury’s gorilla advert.

Ozzy said: “We’re the reason he sold so many albums. That drum fill is the best ever – it still sounds awesome. We love Phil Collins!”

Ozzy also said he is thrilled he has an unlikely pen pal in Frog Chorus creator Sir Paul McCartney. The pair have been keeping in touch via e-mail and Ozzy can’t believe his luck.

He said: “Every time I get an e-mail it’s like, ‘Wow!’”
