SUMMER LOOKS FOR FRIENDS

Friday March 14,2008

Super-ambitious Summer Strallen has already bagged herself the lead in The Sound Of Music – now she has designs on making it big in America.

Summer, who cropped up in teen soap Hollyoaks before her debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s West End show, reckons the Yanks will be won over by her funny side.

“I love doing comedy,” says the 23-year-old. “I’d love to do something as well-written as Friends with people like Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.”

However, a life in showbiz was not always on the cards for Summer, who is the niece of twinkle-toed Bonnie Langford.

“I was quite rebellious when I was younger,” she confesses in The Stage.

“I wanted to be a vet, then I wanted to be an athlete. Then my sister went to drama school and I saw what a great time she was having.”
