ACTOR Kris Marshall suffered head injuries after being hit by a car, police confirmed today.

The 35-year-old television star was enjoying a night out with friends in Bristol city centre on Saturday when he was hit by a car.

He was rushed to intensive care at Bristol Royal Infirmary where a scan revealed his injuries were not life-threatening.

A spokeswoman for Mr Marshall, who rose to fame as Nick in sitcom My Family said he was in a stable condition.

“I can confirm that Kris Marshall was involved in an accident in Bristol on Saturday night and sustained a head injury," she said.

“He is currently in a stable condition in hospital and is expected to be discharged within the next couple of days.”

Avon and Somerset Police said the driver of a VW Polo involved in the accident "was not a drink driver" and stopped immediately after the collision.

Mr Marshall, who lives in Windsor, is known for playing the toyboy boyfriend of a single mother in the current BT adverts.

He also starred in the film Love Actually alongside Colin Firth, Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson and has played detective Luke Stone in the drama Murder City, with Amanda Donahoe.

In his latest film, British horror comedy Hotel Caledonia, he plays a seasonal worker in a remote Scottish hotel.

Mr Marshall was crowned Best Comedy Newcomer six years ago at the British Comedy Awards.
