You can share petrol costs with a passenger and possibly even make money if you get more than one person paying towards the petrol.

You can even do a car share for one-off journeys like, say, Manchester to Edinburgh, London to Brighton or Guildford to St Ives.

It’s also worth looking on these sites if you don’t have a car but are looking for a cheaper way to get to work or go to see your parents.

Sharing the petrol costs with a driver can be a lot cheaper than the train or plane and often cheaper even than a coach.
