I’m A Celebrity 2018: Holly Willoughby fights back tears as she praises Anne Hegerty

I’M A CELEBRITY…GET ME OUT OF HERE! 2018 presenter Holly Willoughby had to fight back her tears last night after the live trial saw contestant Anne Hegerty conquer her fears.

, 37, was joined by her co-host Dec Donnelly, 43, and Extra Camp host Scarlett Moffatt, 28, to discuss Anne’s, 60, efforts.

Alongside her fellow campmates, Anne took part in the live trial of the reality show in which she was seen eating witchetty grub and drinking a glass of liquidised fish eyes.

This is one of the few tasks Anne has been able to take part in as she has been ruled out on medical grounds for several bushtucker trails so far.

Her team were right behind her as she took on the bug-filled feast, which gained huge praise from Holly.

She’s made some real friends…I’m going to cry

Immediately after the trail had concluded, Holly spoke about the relationship Anne has built with her fellow campmates and what got her through the trial.

She told Scarlett: “You know what I think it is? I think it just shows that having the rest of them around her has just really helped.

“they all rallied round her, she feels really part of that group, she’s made some real friends and it’s just…I’m going to cry,” Holly admitted as she became quite emotional.

Scarlett also claimed she was going to start crying too: “She’s on a proper journey. Oh don’t, we’re going to both start crying.”

Anne has publicly spoken out about her struggles in social situations due to being autistic, with her campmates doing their best to make her feel included.

This has been shown by them all consoling her when she becomes emotional in camp as well as including her in discussions and even creating some quizzes for her to take part in.

Dec consoled his co-host, however, burst into laughter as Holly began to become emotional, with also laughing in shock at her unexpected reaction.

Speaking of all the campmates efforts in the trail, Holly added: “I think they all did brilliantly. They all played their part.”

Anne was shocked following a major decision during last night’s show as The Chase star became Deputy Camp Leader.

The Governesses appointment came after Nick Knowles, 56, was elected Camp Leader by the British public after Noel Edmonds’, 69, reign as Emperor came to an end.

Speaking of her new role, Anne said: “I seem to spend so much time doing nothing it might be quite nice to be officially allowed to sit around doing nothing.”

Some of the campmates were worried about Nick’s new role as actress Emily Attack, 28, admitted: “Nick does so much in the camp that we realised this wasn't good for anyone, the camp leader doesn't have to do anything and Nick does so much.”

Anne helped Nick to decide who would be doing what chores throughout the camp, with The Chase star putting John Barrowman, 51, forward as chef.

Emily had stated a desire to cook for the camp, however, on reflection Nick said: “I considered Emily [as camp chef] for a long time but then thought it's safest for all of us if it isn’t!”

The actress saw the funny side of the situation although she stated she was a bit disappointed.

Tonight, John, James McVey, 24, and Rita Simons, 41, will complete the second half of the trial after the others accumulated time for them to complete the challenge in the live trial.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
