ITV Loose Women fans issue same Joanna Page complaint minutes into show

Loose Women fans have taken to social media to blast Joanna Page’s appearance on the panel show. The criticism comes after the Gavin & Stacey actor discussed her disastrous food experience on the daytime staple.

On Thursday (April 18), Charlene White returned to chair the latest instalment of ITV’s Loose Women. The 43-year-old was joined at the helm by Linda Robson, 66, Joanna, 47, and Katie Piper, 40.

Just minutes into the show, the quartet began discussing each other’s search history. Katie led the pack by admitting she’d recently been researching Calpol dosages while Joanna revealed she’d been googling protein bars.

Opening her monologue, the Welsh actress said: “The last thing I searched was when I got into work this morning. And I googled ‘do protein bars give you diarrhoea’.”

Joanna explained that due to having four children, she has less time to enjoy a healthy breakfast. “So I got these smoothies. which are like iced coffee flavour but they hadn’t arrived,” she continued.

The mum-of-four admitted in the meantime she’d been chowing down on protein bars. However, she unfortunately experienced an upset stomach after eating one on the way to the Loose Women studios.

“I was sweating, panicking, looking around [in the car] and thinking about going down a side street,” she laughed.

“So I searched, ‘do protein bars cause diarrhoea?’ Turns out they do. I’m not eating them anymore”

Following Joanna’s speech, Charlene turned to the audience and said: “Well, that’s not where you were expecting that story to go.”

While Katie and Linda joined in laughing at Joanna’s story, not everyone on social media was impressed.

One user of X, formerly known as Twitter, took to the micro-blogging platform and wrote: “F*** me... take a breath.”

A second said: “Blimey come up for air!!”

“Joanna….. say less shhhhhhhh,” typed another.

However, many others praised Joanna for her humorous anecdote. One typed: “Joanna Paige made me laugh and laugh. I’m so glad she made it and I bet her driver is too.”

Another said: “I just love Joanna #LooseWomen.”

Joanna is best known for initially portraying Stacey Shipman on the British sitcom Gavin & Stacey between 2007 and 2010. She also reprised the role for the 2019 Christmas special.

Outside of the show, she has starred in a Midsomer Murders episode and competed on The Masked Dancer.

The star shares four children with her husband, James Thornton. The pair tied the knot in December 2003 after meeting four years earlier on the set of David Copperfield.
