TYSON FURY claims to have sent out several fight contracts ahead of his return to the ring.

Tyson Fury says he will announce his latest opponent next week with ‘four or five’ fighters on the Gypsy King’s radar ahead of his return to the ring. Fury claimed to have retired from boxing on his 34th birthday in August but has performed several U-turns and is now looking to defend his WBC heavyweight world title before the end of the 2022.

Negotiations broke down over a hotly-anticipated Battle of Britain bout with Anthony Joshua in December after Fury had defended his world title in style against Dillian Whyte in April.

And Fury has now been weighing up his other options with up to five fights potentially on the table as he plans a December 3 date.

Speaking to iD Boxing, Fury said: “I think we’ve got a press conference next week and we’ll announce an opponent next week.

“I think there’s four or five guys in the hat. There’s a couple of southpaws in there and a couple of not southpaws, orthodoxes, so we will decide who it’s going to be but there’s a few contracts being sent out to a few different people.

"The factor is the fanfare value. What do they bring? Who’s interested? And who can give you value for money on the night of December 3 in a British boxing banger before Christmas. We want a good, entertaining fight.”

Fury’s most likely opponent is said to be Derek Chisora and he has talked up the prospect of going to battle in a trilogy fight with the heavyweight veteran.

Chisora, 38, was dispatched by Fury in convincing fashion in both their previous bouts in 2011 and 2014.

Unbeaten Fury would be huge favourite if the pair go toe-to-toe once again, while many boxing fans would prefer to see a unification bout with Oleksandr Uysk.

Chisora lost to Usyk by unanimous decision two years ago and Fury believes his credentials will make him a good match up, despite having 12 defeats on his record.

“There’s a few guys there and they’re quite tasty appetite whetters,” Fury told Seconds Out.

"But Chisora would be a good opponent for me because I’d be the first heavyweight champion in history to complete two trilogies and that is history as well.

"So not only would I win all the belts and have another fight and entertain the fans, but I’d also get a little bit of stuff for myself, a little bit more I can add to my mantle.

"In my opinion, Chisora at least got a draw with Usyk. So I see Chisora every bit as dangerous as Usyk – if it is Chisora. Did you watch that fight? It was a very good fight, very close, and I thought Chisora deserved the draw minimum.”
