Max Verstappen's former team-mate shares unique insight into Red Bull star
MAX VERSTAPPEN'S ex team-mate shares his thoughts on the 2021 F1 world champion.

Max Verstappen’s former teammate Alex Albon shared his unique insight into the 2021 F1 world champion. The 23-year-old was brought to Red Bull to drive alongside the Dutchman in mid-2019 and also drove alongside the Dutchman in 2020.

He went on to finish seventh in the World Drivers' Championship two years ago, scoring 105 of Red Bull's 319 points.
However, Albon was demoted to the role of test and reserve driver with Red Bull for 2021, his race seat being taken by Sergio Pérez, who did a stellar job assisting Verstappen to his maiden championship.
During his short stint alongside the 24-year-old the British-born driver, who represents Thailand, shared his thoughts on his former teammate's approach to racing.
He said Verstappen is 'very strong technically', but at the same time is not a driver who fixates on analysis and data.
According to Albon, this is also due to the relationship that Verstappen has formed with engineer Lambiase.

“That bond is impressive,” Albon told FORMULE 1 Magazine.
“Max and Gianpiero rarely talk about details because they understand each other so well.
"During a race weekend, they don't need to spend hours talking about car setups. Sometimes they even have the car in order after ten or fifteen minutes.”
Albon was impressed by his ability to just focus on his track performance in conjunction with the team who put him in the best position possible to win.

“He lets the driving speak for itself. It is mainly the confidence he has in his team. You notice this in the way he treats his engineer,” he added.
“Max focuses on driving and the people behind the scenes are busy with their duties.”
Next season Albon will return to the F1 grid as a member of the Williams team alongside Nicholas Latifi.
He has replaced George Russell who now has a seat at Mercedes.
After signing for his new team, an excited Albon told F1’s official website: “I am really excited and looking forward to returning to a Formula 1 race seat in 2022.
When you take a year out of F1 it’s never certain you will make a return so I’m extremely thankful to Red Bull and Williams for believing in me and helping me on my journey back to the grid.
“It’s also been great to see all the progress Williams have been making as a team this year and I look forward to helping them continue that journey in 2022.
“My focus now returns to my Test & Reserve Driver role at Red Bull and helping the team fight for this year’s world championship.”
