The 39-year-old, who will leave Mercedes at the end of the campaign, has not had it all his own way as the Silver Arrows continue to lag behind the likes of Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari.

Mercedes will be hoping to improve their pace at the upcoming Miami Grand Prix, with their first performance upgrades of the season on the way. is optimistic that the changes will represent a 'good step' for the team after they struggled to get their car in the right window in China.

"We have something coming for Miami that looks like a good step, let’s see where that brings us out," said Wolff after the race in Shanghai. "It's not an okay car. I think we can see what the mistakes were that we did on the car.

"I think we wanted to go a bit more aggressive to see [if it is] something that is so different that we need to do on the car and you can see Lewis took it on him also. That was maybe a step too far."

Adrian Newey 'turns thoughts away' from Red Bull

Adrian Newey has ‘turned his thoughts away’ from Red Bull, Sky Sports claim.

Aston Martin and Ferrari have both been credited with an interest.

Mercedes could reportedly ‘loan’ F1 wonderkid Kim Antonelli to Williams next season.

According to GP Blog, Antonelli could replace the struggling Logan Sargeant for a season before taking a seat at Mercedes.

Sergeant has underperformed at Williams despite earning a new contract during the off-season. The American has failed to finish above 14th this year.

At just 17, Antonelli is yet to qualify for a super licence. He can achieve that when he turns 18 in August.

F1 team's drivers' have 'no future' beyond 2024

Zhou Guanyu and Valtteri Bottas reportedly have ‘no future’ at Sauber beyond this season, F1 Insider reports.

Both drivers have struggled in a car that has promised a fair bit of potential in the early races of the 2024 season.

Slow pit stops have played a part in a disappointing start to the year. It has now been claimed that Sauber may move on both drivers for the 2025 season.

Liam Lawson given warning by Christian Horner

Christian Horner has warned Liam Lawson that he may not be offered an F1 seat in 2025.

The 22-year-old, who hails from New Zealand, impressed when he was called upon to deputise for Daniel Ricciardo last season.

However, he was overlooked when it came to selecting VCARB's driver lineup for this year, with Ricciardo getting the nod instead.

Discussing the possibility of Lawson earning an F1 seat in 2025, Horner said: "He naturally is champing at the bit to get an opportunity.

"But there’s nothing pre-set or preordained as to when or even if that would take place.

"The priority is for sure for the drivers that are in the race seats at the moment and we’ll see how that pans out."

Valtteri Bottas opens up on F1 future plans

Valtteri Bottas has insisted that he will have other options on the grid if he leaves Stake next year.

The team will be rebranded as Audi in 2026, leading to speculation that one or both of their existing drivers will be replaced before then.

Speaking to RacingNews365, Bottas said: "There are options, but at the moment it is all focused on F1.

"I feel like things will start happening quite soon now that Fernando [Alonso] has decided to stay [at Aston Martin].

"Then there are questions about what is Carlos [Sainz] going to do, what are Mercedes going to do?

"I would say ideally within the next few weeks, things are starting to get sorted and I am working on it. Talks have started and so it should be an interesting few weeks."

Christian Horner speaks on Max Verstappen dominance

Christian Horner has reiterated that although Max Verstappen is currently the dominant force in F1, his incredible reign will come to an end at some stage.

"I think that you have to appreciate success," said Horner.

"Max is a special talent. It's a golden moment for him and, as we've seen with every single driver, it doesn't last forever.

"I think it's about enjoying the moment, being in the moment. There's no guarantees that we'll be able to give him a car like this every year for the next five years."

Helmut Marko tears into 'unbelievable' Lance Stroll

Helmut Marko has hit out at Lance Stroll after his lapse in concentration ended Daniel Ricciardo's race at the Chinese Grand Prix.

The Aston Martin driver smashed into the back of Ricciardo at the safety car restart, causing terminal damage to the Aussie's rear diffuser.

Stroll was in no mood to accept the blame for his mistake after the race, instead referring to Ricciardo as an 'idiot'.

Responding to those comments, Red Bull advisor Marko : "I find it unbelievable that he was labelled an idiot by Lance Stroll after the chequered flag fell.

"And that he also had to accept a penalty for Miami. That really wasn't his weekend."

Red Bull mock Lewis Hamilton with cheeky post

Red Bull's social media team have teased Lewis Hamilton by suggesting that he was 'admiring' the RB20 after the Chinese Grand Prix sprint.

After finishing in second place behind Max Verstappen, the pair exchanged pleasantries before Hamilton was spotted casting his eye over the Dutchman's car.

A picture of this moment was shared on Red Bull’s social media channels alongside the caption: "RB20 already gaining admirers."

Nico Rosberg lifts lid on eye-watering Mercedes fine

Nico Rosberg has revealed that he was once fined £360,000 by Mercedes after colliding with Lewis Hamilton during his time as the Brit's team-mate.

Speaking on the Business of Sport podcast, Rosberg said: "The team ended up making us pay for most of the damage.

"We had to sign a contract that from now on, if we crash, no matter whose fault it is, we will pay for the damage.

"I remember how much I had to pay that was £360,000 that I shelled out for one of these accidents.

"That was very painful. After that, we definitely made sure that we didn’t collide again."

Christian Horner accused of Toto Wolff jealousy

Sky Sports commentator David Croft believes Christian Horner is envious of the 'power and control' enjoyed by Toto Wolff at Mercedes.

Discussing the long-running feud between the two figures, Croft said: "Toto Wolff is a co-owner of a Formula One team and Christian Horner isn’t.

"I don’t think that goes down very well with Christian. I think if you said to him: ‘Would you like to be a co-owner of that Red Bull team?’.

"Of course he would. He wants control, he wants power. Toto’s got that because he is a one-third owner of Mercedes.

"Christian Horner, he might be a CEO and he might be a team principal, but he’s a paid employee of the Red Bull team so he hasn’t got that autonomy to make decisions in the way that Toto has.

"I think a lot of the animosity on Christian’s side maybe stems from that. But I think Toto also knows how to wind Christian up as well."

Helmut Marko hits out at Max Verstappen critics

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko does not agree with suggestions that Max Verstappen's dominance is making F1 boring to watch.

The Dutchman is already on course to win his fourth straight Drivers' Championship title and Marko believes his excellence should be appreciated.

He told De Telegraaf: "It’s not boring at all. If the achievements of a sportsman are extraordinary, then you have to accept and be able to appreciate it.

"And above all, don’t say it’s boring. It’s Max’s credit."

Christian Horner saga takes another twist

The woman at the centre of the Christian Horner saga has been grilled by investigators after challenging Red Bull's decision to clear him of any wrongdoing, according to The Sun.

She lodged an appeal when her complaint against the Red Bull team principal was dismissed in February.

The new internal probe, which is being led by lawyers, is expected to go on until mid-May.

The woman initially accused Horner of inappropriate behaviour on the eve of the new F1 season, kicking off a scandal which rocked the sporting world.

Lewis Hamilton getting 'tired' of Toto Wolff

Lewis Hamilton's relationship with Toto Wolff has taken a hit since the 39-year-old announced that he will be leaving Mercedes and joining Ferrari next year.

That's according to a report from FUnoAnalisiTecnica, which states Hamilton is 'tired' of waiting for 'technical answers' from Wolff and the rest of the team's hierarchy.

Wolff, meanwhile, believes Hamilton will be abandoning his 'home' by leaving Mercedes next year and no longer feels a 'debt of gratitude' towards him.
