CARLO ANCELOTTI: Captured Daniel Sturridge
The two clubs failed to reach an agreement on compensation for Sturridge, 19, whose contract expires this summer. As he is under 24, he cannot be signed on a Bosman free.
Florent Malouda has agreed to stay at Chelsea until 2013.
The France winger had seemed on his way out of Stamford Bridge until Guus Hiddink took over in February and he found his top form.
Malouda, said: “I’ll be staying and now have a four-year contract.”
