Gary Neville felt United put in a 'decent' performance against City (Image: PA/GETTY)
That is the opinion of United legend and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville.
Neville admitted his opinion might not be shared by everyone, but the former England international felt the Red Devils played as well as they could have with their current crop of stars.
And the former United defender believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will win games if they continue to play at the level shown at Old Trafford yesterday.
“I think tonight, I thought it was a decent performance from United,” Neville said.
“City were the far better team in the end but I actually think that’s probably as good as that team can play.
“They would win a lot of games if they played like that, United, against the other opposition.
“Obviously not Man City, that was the difference in quality.”

City came into the game knowing a victory would send them back to the top of the Premier League and one point ahead of title challengers Liverpool.
Meanwhile United are still competing with Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal for a top four finish in the league.
The game was tied at half time until Bernardo Silva cut inside at the edge of the box and hammered home a low drive past David de Gea, who was unsighted at his near post, in the 54th minute.
City never looked back and they struck again 12 minutes later.
After collecting the ball inside their own half, two passes later City fans saw Leroy Sane finish off a well-executed counter-attack.
United finished the game with 37 per-cent possession and only managed one shot on target over the course of the game.
