Messi on the other hand has scored 48 goals in 46 games in all competitions, with 34 in 32 in the league.
Ronaldo scored six Champions League goals for Juventus before being knocked out by Ajax in the quarter-finals, whereas Messi still has the opportunity to add to his 12 European goals so far this term.

Messi was phenomenal against Liverpool says Ferdinand
Messi’s sumptuous free-kick sealed a 3-0 lead over Liverpool after the first leg, however, the 31-year-old believes the tie is far from over.
He said: ”The goal from the free kick? It was spectacular, but I was lucky to have found the corner.
"We could have also made the fourth goal, but we must be satisfied.
“However, it is not over yet: the return race is waiting for us. Liverpool is a team with so much physicality and in some situations, we have made a bit of effort."
