Man United: Solskjaer needs to do 'great recruitment' says pundit
That's the latest extraordinary claim to have emerged from transfer expert Duncan Castles.
Castles understands that Solskjaer has asked the best of his current players to put in a good word with potential signings.
Except as Castles pointed out in The Times, the plan has a major problem - because they themselves could leave the club this summer.
David de Gea still hasn't put pen to paper on a new contract, Paul Pogba is desperate to join Real Madrid and Romelu Lukaku looks likely to try his luck in Serie A.
One of those new signings could be 21-year-old Daniel James, the Swansea winger who impressed in the Championship this season.
Sky Sports reporter Julian Warren says talks have already been held and that a deal is now on the cards.
"United are close to agreeing a £15million deal with Swansea for their young winger Daniel James," he said.
While there is also interest from Old Trafford in Newcastle midfield Sean Longstaff, who has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Ander Herrera.

Man United rebuild will take 'THREE YEARS' says pundit
Warren said on Saturday: "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on recruiting young, homegrown talent during the summer window and we've been told he's interested in Newcastle's 21-year-old midfielder Sean Longstaff.
"Longstaff signed a new contract at St James' Park in November. That runs until 2022."
In terms of outgoings, Alexis Sanchez is likely to be the most high profile departure from Old Trafford.
United are so desperate to get him off the books that they are willing to subsidise his huge wage packet to interested suitors.
