Sadio Mane admits Liverpool have “big respect” for Premier league title rivals Manchester City after his late winner against Aston Villa.
The Reds picked up a dramatic win at Villa Park during the closing stages of the match when Andy Robertson cancelled out Trezeguet’s opener in the 87th minute before Mane’s last-gasp header.
Jurgen Klopp’s men maintained their six-point lead over City ahead of next week’s crucial clash between the two title rivals at Anfield.
Mane insists that he and his team-mates will approach this encounter with the utmost seriousness as they have enormous respect for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Liverpool star told the club’s official website: “We have big respect for Manchester City.
“They are a very good team but we are Liverpool and we are also a very good team.
“I think it will be a very interesting game and we are looking forward to it.”
Liverpool impressed against Villa as they showed tremendous resiliency even though they were trailing for the majority of the Premier League clash.

And Mane, who orchestrated that stunning comeback with an assist and the winning goal, insists his side deserved the three points.
The winger added: “I’m struggling to describe how happy we are.
“But for sure we are very happy and we deserved to win these three points, which was really important for us.
“It’s always going to be tough but I think our reaction was perfect.
