Liverpool are plotting a move for Red Bull Salzburg winger Takumi Minamino, after he impressed during both Champions League fixtures against the Reds. The 24-year-old scored against Liverpool at Anfield earlier this season, and Jurgen Klopp was spotted looking impressed with the Japanese star.

The Liverpool manager has since decided to make a transfer move for the right-sided winger.
The Japan international has a release clause in his contract of just £7.25million.
A deal for Minamino would be considered a bargain, given his experience in Champions League football and his goal-scoring ability.
He’s scored five goals in 14 Austrian Bundesliga appearances this season, and has recorded six assists.

He’s also scored twice in the Champions League, and provided three assists for team-mates.
Meanwhile, Minamino has been capped by Japan on 22 occasions.
During that time, he’s scored an impressive 11 goals from a wide position.
If Klopp were to seal a transfer for the Salzburg star, it would give him a chance to rotate his powerhouse front three - Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
It would also allow Klopp to send Rhian Brewster out on loan, so that he can vital first-team experience.
Minamino arrived at Salzburg from Cerezo Osaka in January 2015, for just £720,000.
He was deployed to the Salzburg first-team straight away, and he impressed in his first half-season in Europe.
The winger is on-track to record his highest ever goal tally in the Austrian league this season, with Manchester United also believed to be interested in the 24-year-old.
