Arsenal: Mikel Arteta discusses January transfer window
Arsenal want to sign players ready to help the team immediately having seen Denis Suarez flop following his loan arrival from Barcelona during the January transfer window last year, reports say. The Spain international was a big disappointment during his time at the Emirates and is now strutting his stuff with Celta Vigo in La Liga.

Arsenal have also considered a loan deal for Bayern Munich veteran Jerome Boateng, who wants to leave the Bundesliga club.
However, the Gunners’ hierarchy have concerns about the player’s fitness issues and lack of game time this season.
Pundit Jamie O’Hara, however, believes Boateng would be worth the gamble.
“Yeah [Boateng would be a good fit],” O’Hara said on The Debate.
“I mean he’s international level, he’s playing for a fantastic club in Bayern Munich.

“He’s been there, done it, won things. What is he, 31? So he’s still got legs in him.
“They signed David Luiz who is a little bit older and he’s a bit of a mismatch. Sometimes he’s great, sometimes he’s not.
“I think Jerome Boateng will give you more consistency and he’s a leader. He’s a leader on the football pitch, the players are going to respect him.
“As soon as he comes through that dressing room everyone’s going to know who he is and I think that’s key with Arsenal.
“I think they need to address that [defensive] situation still because they can be at sixes and sevens at the back and bringing in someone like him will definitely help.”
