Man Utd: Pundit discusses Solskjaer's transfer plans
Manchester United need at least six signings to compete with rivals Liverpool and Manchester City for major honours, claims former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley. Seven years have passed since United last lifted the Premier League title. City have had their hands on the trophy three times since then, with Liverpool set to end their 30-year wait for a top-flight title when and if this season resumes after the coronavirus pandemic.

Burley said on ESPN FC: "I think [United are] a good half a dozen players away because when you look to your bench, and you're going to need a squad to compete with these clubs, the City's and the Liverpool's, maybe even Chelsea, we'll see what happens with Arsenal as well, you're going to need to look to your bench and have quality.
"I've say on this show many, many, many times and the first thing that I've brought up when Man City are playing is, not so much this season but over the last couple of years, look at their bench, look at who they have on the bench, they would walk into almost any other team in the Premier League.
"And that's United's problem."
United are linked with a host of big-name signings ahead of the next transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund and England winger Jadon Sancho is one of them after another fine season in the Bundesliga.
And former United defender Danny Higginbotham believes his old club would be a better fit for Sancho than both Liverpool and City.
Higginbotham said: "I would [advise Sancho to join United], I would because I look at the development of the younger players at the club, I look at what [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer is doing, so I don't think there is any issue if he was to go there.
"There is a ready-made position for him and I think the way United play absolutely suits his style and the way that he wants to play, with the pace and the power going forward.
