Man Utd target Dembele 'fits the club's criteria' says expert
Arsenal will reportedly go after Lyon striker Moussa Dembele in the summer transfer window, but only if one of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaves the club. Dembele was one of Ligue 1's standout performers last year having scored 16 goals in 27 league games.
He also helped Lyon to reach the Coupe de la Ligue final, which will take place on July 31 against French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
That could prove crucial for Lyon after failing to qualify for next season's Europa League due to the season being cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Beating PSG would grant them a spot in next season's Europa League, which would undoubtedly help their cause in keeping some of their core players.
Dembele has attracted plenty of interest ahead of the summer transfer window, with Manchester United long linked with the 23-year-old.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is desperately trying to sign Aubameyang up to a new deal as the Gabon international has just one year remaining on his current contract.
But Lacazette also faces an uncertain future with two years remaining and reports have emerged the Gunners could try and cash in this year.
The 29-year-old striker has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the starting line-up for Arsenal since the restart, being named in the first XI in just three of their last six Premier League games.
Eddie Nketiah has often been preferred over Lacazette with Arteta seeing the 21-year-old as having a bright future at the Emirates.

However, a move to sign Dembele would only be possible if either Aubameyang or Lacazette is sold this summer.
Aubameyang has dropped a number of hints that he could be set to sign a new contract with Arsenal.
Appearing on an Instagram Live video with his brother earlier this week, the striker appeared to confirm an announcement was imminent.
When asked to "blink if you're gonna sign", Aubameyang appeared to respond by exaggerating the gesture with a wide grin on his face.
