Man Utd: Pundit accuses Ed Woodward of lying about transfers
Manchester United’s hierarchy won’t make extra funds available to sign a new right-back this January, according to reports. Ed Woodward signed Alex Telles on the cheap during the summer transfer window, paying just £15million to bring the Brazil international to Old Trafford. And they’re on the lookout for similar bargain buys as they look to win the Premier League title under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And United are adopting a similar stance when it comes to January, determined to save the majority of their cash until the summer transfer window.
At the end of the season, Solskjaer hopes to land Erling Haaland.
The Red Devils missed out on the Borussia Dortmund star 12 months ago, back when the Norway international was strutting his stuff for Red Bull Salzburg.
But despite that saga, United remain hopeful they can fend off competition from Real Madrid and Chelsea to land the striker.
Jadon Sancho remains of interest, even though the Dortmund star has struggled for consistency at the Westfalenstadion this term.
And United are keen on Ben White, who has flourished for Brighton ever since returning from a successful loan spell at Leeds.
Woodward recently vowed to back Solskjaer in coming transfer windows, saying: "What happens on the field is clearly our top priority, and while it's not the same without fans in the stadium, we've seen lots of highs since our last meeting in April, with that 14-game unbeaten run to finish third in last season's Premier League run and great wins against PSG and RB Leipzig on our return to the Champions League this season.
"Of course, we recognise there's more hard work ahead to achieve the consistency needed to win trophies.
“But we see positive signs on the pitch and the training ground that reinforce our belief in the progress being made by Ole, his coaching team and the players.
"I told this forum back in April that we remained committed to strengthening the squad, while being disciplined in our spending during the pandemic.

“I believe we've delivered on that, with the additions we made during the summer taking our total net spending to over €200m since summer 2019 - more than any other major European club over that period.
"We will continue to support Ole with a planned, long-term approach to recruitment, focused on the summer windows."
Several players could leave United this winter.
Tim Fosu-Mensah, Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo have all been permitted to talk with other clubs.
And exits for Phil Jones, Daniel James and Jesse Lingard aren’t entirely out of the question.
