Chelsea plot £51m move for Madrid target as Boehly bids to make amends for Endrick blow

are reportedly set to push to sign Lille star Leny Yoro, who is attracting interest from and . The teenager is largely viewed as being one of the most exciting defensive prospects in Europe.

Chelsea are expected to splash the cash at the end of the season, with reinforcements being eyed in nearly every department. has made it no secret that his side must sign a striker, whilst selling Conor Gallagher and replacing him with a fresh face is a firm possibility as well.

The Blues are also hoping to secure the signature of at least one defender over the summer, with both Thiago Silva and Trevoh Chalobah expected to depart. Selling Marc Cucurella is also a possibility that should not be ruled out.

As a result, Chelsea have begun shortlisting their defensive targets. According to Spanish news outlet AS, the Blues are set to rival Real Madrid in the race to sign Lille sensation Yoro.

The 18-year-old has already made 51 Ligue 1 appearances and showcased that he is ready to take the next step in his career already. With Yoro promising to improve even further, Lille are demanding a fee in the region of £51million to part ways with their academy product.

The asking price has not deterred interest from Madrid, who have shortlisted the teenager as their top centre-back target for the summer window. Los Blancos have also informed Lille that they will try and negotiate a lesser fee, knowing that the France Under-21 international is out of contract at the club in 2025 and unlikely to pen a new deal.

PSG are also firmly in the race, having failed to reach an agreement for the No. 15 in January, along with . Chelsea will be hopeful that the prospect of playing in the Premier League could prompt Yoro to snub the interest from Madrid, especially after their transfer mishap previously.

The Blues missed out on the signing of Endrick to the Santiago Bernabeu outfit in December 2022. The teenager drew comparisons to the likes of Pele and Romario as a youngster at Palmeiras, but Todd Boehly failed to reach an agreement with the Brazilian outfit which allowed Madrid to pounce and secure his signature.

Endrick has already begun indicating that Chelsea’s failure to get a deal over the line could prove costly, with the teen announcing himself on the world stage with a goal for Brazil against England over the weekend.
