are reportedly frustrated with the lack of playing time that Alejo Veliz has received while on loan at this season. The young Argentine was allowed to leave temporarily in search of more regular minutes, but has made just three substitute appearances since departing north London.

Spanish outlet AS claim that Spurs are unhappy that Sevilla have broken their promise of allowing Veliz to play on a consistent basis. The 20-year-old has played just 23 minutes in total, but has spent some time injured which has hampered his chances of impressing boss Quique Sanchez Flores.

Veliz was assured by his head coach that once he overcame any fitness issues then he would feature more often in the team. But the striker was restricted to just cameo appearances against Valencia, and Real Sociedad.

“He does what we ask of him. He is a boy who is going to once again set a clear path for what the team needs,” Flores said. But the ex- boss is yet to follow through and Veliz’s parent club have been left feeling that Sevilla have let them down as they try to nurture the forward’s incredible talent.

Spurs signed Veliz from Argentinian outfit Rosario Central for £13million and handed him a six-year contract last summer. He was seen as a player with a bright future but a knee injury restricted him to just eight substitute appearances, following the resurgence of Richarlison as a central striker.

With Timo Werner also arriving in January, Veliz was sent out on loan to a team where he was expected to gain some rhythm and play regularly in Europe, before returning to north London at the end of the season.

But coach Flores has explained that there are significant obstacles in Veliz’s way. “Alejo has left us with a good feeling and at other times he has not left us with such a good feeling,” the Sevilla manager said.

“He has very high competition and Alejo knows that he has two forwards who are very fit and others who are coming who are not going to be so good. Therefore, he knows that he has to change the rhythm of sensations in order to have more opportunities.”

But Spurs will now likely think twice about lending one of their players to Sevilla unless the situation surrounding Veliz improves before the summer. They are not the only team upset at the Spanish side either, with similarly .

Neither player has made the desired start to life in , with both English clubs disappointed over the lack of progress made at Sevilla.
